Vijay is a committed NHS practitioner and is fully aware of all the daily issues affecting dental colleagues who work delivering NHS dental care.
Following graduation, Vijay spent a short spell doing hospital work, he then settled into general practice, first as an associate and then practice owner. His clinical experience spans some 33 years, mostly spent working in the NHS. He has also been involved with his local dental committee for over 30 years, is past Chair and current Secretary of Birmingham LDC.
Nationally, he was Chair of LDC Conference in 2019 and has been Vice Chair of the BDA’s GDPC since July 2019. In this role, he has been at the table with NHSE & DHSC supporting the profession throughout the pandemic, and with all the changes that have come since, ‘marginal changes 1’ (November 2022), the changes to come in April 2026 and ongoing work around more significant contract reform.
Vijay is a passionate advocate for the GDP, not afraid to ask difficult questions of those that we serve.
